About Me |
|
I'm a Baby-Boomer, born in 1950 in Que Que, Southern Rhodesia where I spent my school years, matriculating in 1967. I spent the late sixties and the seventies doing my national service, Medical Technology and my primary Medical Degree (MB.Ch.B) at the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine, University of Rhodesia. My internship in 1980 was spent mainly at Harare Hospital. After specializing in Haematopathology at UCT and Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, I spent a short while as Medical Director and CEO of the Natal Blood Transfusion Service in Pinetown KZN before returning to Cape Town in 1990 to become a Partner in a private Pathology Practice Group trading as PathCare where I remain. I have two grown up children; Warren who is a software engineer in Durban (check out his website from my links page) and Kerry who is a Physiotherapist and part time Home-Carer with a really serious travel bug, currently based in the UK. My Partner Cassia and I have lived on Woodbridge Island for many years and as you can see from my home page, we have a passion for nature in general but particularly birding, wildlife, things botanical, fly fishing (me) and just being in the bush. |
